Prolonged exposure to loud noises can, over time, damage sensitive hearing hair cells, causing hearing loss and tinnitus.
At the Hearing Club we make customised swimming, noise and musician ear plugs as protection for people who need to protect ears while swimming, work in a situation with industrial noise, or for musicians exposed to band noise. We can even make comfortable and customised ear plugs for swimmers to keep the water out while doing laps at the pool.
All our custom-made plugs are durable and comfortable to wear. Custom made earplugs can reduce noise by up to 20 decibels, preserving your hearing range longer.
Earplugs for Musicians
Musicians exposed to loud music over prolonged time, whether in a band, orchestra or a frequent concert goer, can suffer hearing damage. Musicians need to protect their hearing while at the same time be able to hear themselves and other musicians sing and play. Our earplugs specially designed for musicians are custom moulded to each ear and work with the ear canal to deliver an evenly reduced noise level at mid to low frequency without muffling or distortion, maintaining sound quality.
Earplugs for swimmers
Our customised swimmers ear plugs are used by swimmers to stop water entering the ear canal. If you suffer from frequent ear infections or have a child who has had surgery for grommets, swimming plugs are needed while in the pool, bath or shower to keep ears dry. Our swimmers ear plugs are made to float so they are detectable if they fall out.
How do we customise your earplugs?
We will use an otoscope (an instrument with a light) to check that ear canals are free from obstructions before we take impressions of your ears. A small piece of foam is inserted into the ear with a special ear light, followed by casting material that is syringed into the ear. The casting material sets after a few minutes and after it is removed, custom ear plugs are made from this impression. It is a very simple and painless process that only takes a few minutes.
We are open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and Saturdays by appointment. If you need quality earplugs that do a good job of protecting your ears give the Hearing Club a call on 1800-627-728.
